Ramsey’s Cascade

Here is a pic from Ramsey’s Cascade in the Greenbrier section of the Smokies.  The falls are fabulous but this is one hell of a hike!  It took my wife and I about 3.5 hours to make it in.  We packed a lunch and ate on top of the big rock at the falls.  Rest assured there will not be much traffic on this trail.  The water coming off here is freezing cold.  My feet started going numb from wading across to set up for this shot.  All in all a very hard amount of work for the shot.  We both felt it was “worth the walk” to see this falls up close and personal.  I highly recommend it if you ever get down that way.  Any body else got a story of the hike being worth it?

  1. Every hike is great if you get the big shot, but if the images don’t come I want to be home on my but eating bon-bons, just kidding, any day on the trail is better than a day at work…Don’t you agree?

BTW great shot…This year we are going to get there I promise!!
