Cactus Bloom

cactus-bloom.jpgThis bloom was shot down in Big Bend National Park in April.  The color was unreal.  The weather was reasonably cool but did heat up in the afternoons.  Big Bend’s a great place to go for grand vistas and desert landscapes.  Also an eye opener for those who think the Rio Grande river is an obstacle, you can walk across it in places!  Harsh lighting and dust are also issues.  Carlsbad Caverns and the Guadeloupe Mtns are due north if you feel inclined.
