Another long week
Just got done with another set of gruelling training days. Up at 5:00am and in bed around midnight or later. It sure is hard on an old body like mine. The things we do in the name of “safety” and “control” are ridiculous. the whole “train as you fight” thing is a bunch of crap! The venerable “First Army” or “worst army” as we affectionately call them are just plain crazy. We must adhere to unrealistic training scenarios that we would never even attempt in combat. For example, we were required to man a full outpost at 100% security for an entire training day with one company’s worth of personnel. We had no one for any other required support or rotations at all. One company would never do that in combat. Why do it in training to see how we would handle it? It is ludicrous! In addition to that, my own company leadership is not inspiring much confidence. It seems we can’t move from one point to the other without getting lost. We have spent the last two nights making u-turns after end ending up dead ended. I hate mediocrity in people who are in charge! I hope it gets better before we go. I am still hanging in there. Health-wise I’m not too bad with the exception of a monster migraine and some nausea last night. I think I got a little too much sun. It was nice yesterday, 65 degrees. I hear they had snow at home yesterday! I miss you all, both family and friends, a lot. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers and I’ll post when I can. Talk at you all later! JT

Hey Jimmy how are you doing buddy,do you think I could use the little gun on some of the refs I have dealt with this year? You look good hope you are feeling well and rested, life is still the same here in good old southern Indiana, cold and boring.
We played last night and beat JCD, they pretty much sucked for being ranked #2 in Class 1A, we didn’t play well but still won going away, wasn’t as close as the score showed. All the kids are very ill with the flu, Devin especially but she still dominated them, we play tomorrow at Columbus East they will stomp are cookies if we play like we did last night. They have all the tools and are well coached, hopefully we will feel better and play out our rears and get a victory.
The weather looks to be improving by the weekend 50 degrees in the next few days, it was -1 this morning, I tried some floral shots yesterday and today but nothing caught my eye seem to be in a little slump photography wise right now. Hopefully when basketball season ends and it gets warmer I will get my shooting eye back.
Sounds like the Army never changes, I mean what are you looking for a well oiled stream-lined fighting machine (right !!)oh well in about 11 months you will be back here laughing about it.
Well I better head to practice.. You take care and enjoy the fine food and accommodations, I will tell everyone hello from you and we will be thinking and praying for you.
Joyce gave me this website last night. Sounds like you’ve had a few rough days. It’s just not the same without you sitting on the sidelines with your million dollar camera getting ready to be smashed by one of the BB players. You’re pretty good at avoiding the contact. Keep your head up, you’re in our thoughts and prayer. We miss ya!!!!
I tried to get worx streaming radio via the net but the file wasn’t supported or something. I had to revert to quarter updates from the wife. Sorry to hear about your slump, but it will pass. We’ve had some great looking sunrises and sets, but I am always busy at those times! I hope everyone is healthy for Sat’s game. I would like to see them get some momentum going into the tourney. Good luck and I will talk at you later. Thanks, everyone, again for all the support! JT
I also have to listen to the few WORX broadcasts over the internet down here in Florida. I now think you need to download the Yahoo music server to get the games to play on the computer speakers. Good Luck with your tour, thank you for the freedoms you fight to provide us, and may Austin lose in the first round of sectionals.
